Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Align Engineering with Product and GTM through clear operating rhythms, planning cycles, and roadmap ownership.
Own Quarterly success plans for leads, managers and teams to drive predictable outcomes.
Communicate priorities, risks, and trade-offs clearly to leadership and Board, and ensure teams stay focused on high-impact work.
Technology Strategy
Own the technical vision and lead architectural decisions to create customer value, AI/ML reliability, and strategic integrations.
Provide technical leadership to engineers and tech leads with designs, challenge assumptions, and ensure scalability.
Balance speed and quality by setting standards for system design, security, reliability, and technical debt management.
Engineering Delivery & Quality
Build a scalable developer platform (CI/CD, automation, testing) that drives consistent, world-class execution across pods.
Improve reliability and release quality through observability, incident response, and strong quality gates.
Drive predictable throughput and elevate engineering fundamentals using delivery metrics (lead time, MTTR, deployment frequency).
Grow Team
Assess current strengths and gaps; shape the team structure and role expectations needed for the next stage of scale.
Implement repeatable hiring, onboarding, targets, mentorship, and manager development to shorten time‑to‑productivity and increase retention.
Cultivate a high-performing engineering team built on autonomy, accountability, and deep ownership.
Skills & Experience
Scale Leadership: Scaled small engineering teams into multi-pod, high-performing organizations at fast-growing SaaS or AI companies.
Architecture Expertise: Strong architectural judgment across cloud-native systems, CI/CD, observability, and integration.
Technical Fluency: Capable of guiding design and technical decisions across Python, Node.js, TypeScript, and React.
AI/ML Production Literacy: Experience supporting AI/ML systems in production, including evaluation, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
People & Org Development: Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop engineers and managers; build onboarding, growth paths, and performance systems.
Leverage AI: Experience increasing measurable output and speed through the use of AI tools and agents for day-to-day operations and coding.
